At Drumconner our homes provide a full mix of different care types ranging from support for residents who wish to live independently through to specialist nursing care for residents with complex health care needs and those requiring end of life care, palliative care.
Our care is delivered by our highly qualified care teams who undergo continuous professional care development and training ensuring that all support offered is up to date and delivered by professional, well qualified and experienced staff with the focus on providing exceptional care for our residents.

Residential Care

Residential care is provided for people who may need minimal help to live independently just needing extra support with daily living, including personal hygiene, meal times, medications or getting dressed. Many choose to come into a care home for company or to be able to enjoy the many facilities and companionship available knowing staff are available 24 hours a day ensuring peace of mind.

Respite Care

Many of our long term residents have previously stayed with us for a respite break for many different reasons. It may be a friend or carer is away, a period of post op recovery after time in hospital , as a result of a fall, an operation or a major illness. For many respite represents an opportunity for a trial period if uncertain about moving into a care home permanently or for those who just need a break themselves. Residents will receive high standards of personalised quality care and comfort however short, or long. Taking a break from the usual routine can makes a huge difference for families and friends for both carers and for those that are being cared for providing the medical and therapeutic support needed in a relaxing setting, helping them to get back on their feet or providing a much needed break before returning home.

Our team of fully qualified nurses and experienced staff oversee the health and well being of each resident with tailored bespoke care based on detailed and comprehensive care plans ensuring residents receive the very best in nursing care providing peace of mind for the resident and their families.
Our nursing teams provide compassionate and dedicated medical care 24 hours a day working closely with local health care professionals offering physical and emotional support for a wide range of clinical conditions such things as provision of post-operative care and specific nursing support for chronic and terminal illness.
Residents accommodation remains luxuriously appointed and comfortable but has the necessary design and highly specialist equipment to ensure appropriate quality nursing care can be delivered as needed.
Specialist advice and support is obtained with referrals to further clinicians, speech and language therapists, dieticians, psychiatrists, and other trusted specialist service providers ensuring the right care at the right time. Drumconner fundamental values are to maintain and promote each residents independence and choice. Our person-centred approach to Nursing Care allows us to ensure these values are achieved.

End of Life care

At Drumconner End of Life Care is approached holistically caring for the whole person, providing pain management, comfort and emotional support for each resident, their family and friends with kindness dignity and respect. Our team provides sensitive and compassionate care ensuring End of Life plans are respected. Working with GPs and other key health professionals to ensure residents receive the care they want as they approach the end of their life.

Aromatherapist

Care at Drumconner includes free massage and aromatherapy treatments since we believe all benefit from these services but is especially good for people that are not so active, as it may help with circulation and improve mobility.

We work closely with speech therapists to ensure that residents with swallowing difficulties which may be the result of stroke, progressive neurological disorders or cognitive decline are well-served to help maintain this basic function and the ability to eat solids and communicate with their families.
