Care and Support

Professional, well qualified and experienced staff, our focus is firmly on our residents.

Nursing is organised on the basis of a multidisciplinary approach with GPs, community matrons, speech therapists and other professionals being part of the care team.

‘Through personal care plans and ongoing assessment, we continue to provide our residents with the level of nursing they require while being cognisant of ensuring independence of decision making and quality of life.‘  Matron, Drumconner

Nursing

Using planned, high ratios of nursing and health care workers to residents available 24 hours a day we are fully equipped to deal with the needs of our residents. Supported by an in-house physiotherapist, all your immediate medical needs can be met. Then, when more specialist treatment is required our staff are experts in identifying the need for referral to further clinicians, speech and language therapists, dieticians, psychiatrists, and other trusted specialist service providers.

Physiotherapy

We have an in-house physiotherapist who helps residents improve their flexibility and to maintain active lives. An important part of the care package here at Drumconner, we believe it supports quality of life, daily enjoyment and wellbeing.

...and more

In addition, we have preferred providers for dentistry, optical services and a visiting chiropodist. We can arrange and book any of these services and ensure that our residents are getting the value and care and attention needed.

Aromatherapist

Care at Drumconner includes free massage and aromatherapy treatments since we believe all benefit from these services but is especially good for people that are not so active, as it may help with circulation and improve mobility.

Personal Care

We believe that good personal care is one of our core deliverables at Drumconner homes and all our health care workers are chosen because of their desire to care.

Speech Therapy

We work closely with speech therapists to ensure that residents with swallowing difficulties which may be the result of stroke, progressive neurological disorders or cognitive decline are well-served to help maintain this basic function and the ability to eat solids and communicate with their families.

Chiropody

Our residents look forward to our visiting chiropodist who is well qualified and patient focused, ensuring that even nervous residents can be convinced that regular feet and hand treatments are essential to their well-being.

Activities and Wellbeing

We offer social and recreational services as well as a visiting chaplaincy service.
